The central California population is growing due to ongoing releases, wild nesting and the care we provide them but they are wild.Condors fly in and out as they please; you might see a dozen or more at once, or you might not see any.No other breeder will invite you to see your puppy 24/7.It’s important that you know how your puppy was raised and socialized…not just by what you are told but by what you can see with your own eyes. They are never, ever sold to pet stores or puppy brokers!Carl was incredibly supportive of Ventana Wildlife Society's work and spent many days of his youth and adult life in the field assisting his parents with VWS's mission.

Carl Young Weather Station at Anderson Peak, Big Sur, CA This weather station is dedicated to the memory of Meteorologist Carl Young, son of VWS co-founders' Sal and Ada Lucido.

By visiting Condor Spotter as you watch, you can identify individuals by their wing tags.

You might even see them feeding on carcasses provided by biologists to ensure a clean non-lead contaminated food source as the population recovers.
